About

The Past
I started writing BloodSlave back in 2003, in my first year of college (Art Fundamentals). Several of my friends introduced me to the dirty little world of 'Yaoi' and from then on i've been obsessed with boyxmanlove. BloodSlave first procured itself as a written prose story less than 20 pages with a few rough doodles. the story involved a female character named 'Bethani' who i HATED, and i became quite frustrated with the story. i eventually gave up and focused on school, until i received a storyboarding assignment. i took the opportunity to re-write BloodSlave and produce some beautiful colored illustrations. after that, the story took off. i started drawing pages and maintaining a keenspace webcomic which acheived decent popularity. but i found the Keenspace interface very confusing. because i had studied HTML and website design in high school, i used my knowledge (and some help from a friend, Adrian) to buy a domain (bloodslave.com), but as the years in college pressed on, they became more difficult. my grade were dropping steadily, and i had no time to draw or maintain that web space. my credit cards bounced, and i lost the domain. bloodslave (bearly past chapter 1) went offline.

this was the end of a chapter in my life as well, my 'school life' was over. I had been kicked out of the Animation program at Seneca@York U. tragedy... my parents were dissapointed, i was depressed, and the only think i could do was work minimum wage at a shitty retail job. after many months of trudging along, i started drawing again. this time scrapping the first chapter of BloodSlave (again!). i kept the story the same, but re-drew everything. i was still terribly poor, so i used printer paper, and uploaded my stuff to DeviantArt and NEVER STOPPED! as time passed, i took on a second job for more income and started buying quality supplies. chapter 2 and 3 came out almost instantly, and in 2008, chapter 1 was published at indyplanet.com (i used my own money!). and off i went to my first anime convention, CNE Fan Expo 2008 (on the table side that is! i always would attend as a consumer!). moderate success, some interested new readers, but it was enough to keep me going down the path. about 9 months pass and i have published chapters 2 and 3, and have reserved a table at Anime North 2009. AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! sold quite a lot of books and prints there and made a very decent amount of money!

I keep writing, finish chapters 4 and 5 (currently in the middle of 6), and are currently in the process of getting them published (very tedious!). i've been working in a call centre since 2007 where they allow me draw (on the slow days!). the website (this one, bloodslavemanga.com was posted in 2009, the HTML code and frame set are written by myself, completley by hand (no generators like Dreamweaver or frontpage were used!), so if you see a mistake, let me know! i'm the webmaster too! ^_^

The Present
Still working on BloodSlave, recently found an amazing company from Japan called 'Deleter' who i will be purchasing all my supplies from now (formerly Blue Line Pro and Letraset, but the prices for the American and European imports is just not worth it! not to mention, Deleter has unmatched variety!). as of May 6th 2010, BloodSlave totals 5.5 chapters, 694 pages, or 141mb (site space).

The Future
The future of this story is as uncertain as my own life story. however, there are a few things i can guarentee: There will be at least 8 chapters, maybe more depending on how the writing goes. i plan on doing a flashback chapter too (perhaps 9th chapter?), covering all the vampire's pasts'. and above all, i will always be drawing! if BloodSlave ends one day, i will have at least 3 other projects ready to go! including Elle Desperado, Guerriero Virtuoso, Cyndrel, Kat in a Window, New Horizons, Blackout (secret drinking/card game engineered by my B/F), The Lesser Key of Solomon, or one of my many Yaoi Doujins.
